Casey McKay, DAT, AT, ATC

Owner/Athletic Trainer

Licensed & Certified Athletic Trainer

  • Born in Tucson, AZ, Casey played softball and soccer growing up year round. With her father as coach, she stuck with softball, playing into high school. During that time, she started getting into athletic training by being enrolled in a sports medicine class that her high school AT taught (shout out to Becky Fajardo). She took her dreams to South Dakota State University, a Division I University in Brookings, South Dakota. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training in 2014.

Though she originally was planning on going to get her physical therapy degree, she realized she loved sports medicine. She then headed back to Arizona to obtain a Master of Science in Athletic Training from A.T. Still University in 2016.  During her time there, she was a research assistant for the ATSU concussion program. Her research was focussed on School Nurse’s Perceptions of the Concussion Management Team in the Secondary School Setting. She also graduated with a Doctor of Athletic Training from A.T. Still University in 2018.  Casey continues to be a part of various research projects that will advance injury prevention and concussion management in youth athletes.

She currently works for AT Direct full time while staying home with her two year old daughter Layne. When she is not busy working games or organizing events, she likes to do anything outdoors from going camping with her family to spending time at the lake or going for a ride on their UTV.
